When I try to add a Hp printer using the hp-setup commad line utility I get=
 this error on terminal:

root@pc:~# hp-setup -i
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/bin/hp-setup", line 48, in <module>

  File "/usr/share/hplip/base/status.py", line 32, in <module>
    import cupsext
ImportError: libudev.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or =
directory

I tried upgrading hplip package to bakcports version getting the same resul=
ts. I installed the gui version (hplip-gui) but when I launch the program, =
it fails too.

With this bug I can't use any Hp printer. If I try to add it by cups interf=
ace or system-config-printer utility the system does not find any Hp printe=
r.

Finally, the issue was easily solved by creating a link between the install=
ed files and the ones the program are looking for.=20
In this case (as root):=20
ln -s /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libudev.so.1 /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libudev.so.0

I'm sorry for reporting this insignificant issue, but I thought that it wa=
s related with the absence of udev on Devuan and the need of a patch or som=
ething for make hplip work. I had this issue several times before and then =
I discover on other machine (I help managing IT stuff on a school) that iss=
ue was not Devuan related because it works perfetly on it. I suppose it was=
 related to a particular snapshot of Devuan that had this issue. After I se=
arch for this message and found the solution above-mentioned

Package: hplip
Version: 3.16.11+repack0-3
Severity: grave

When I try to add a Hp printer using the hp-setup commad line utility I get=
 this error on terminal:

root@pc:~# hp-setup -i
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/bin/hp-setup", line 48, in <module>
    from base import device, utils, tui, models, module, services, os_utils
  File "/usr/share/hplip/base/device.py", line 41, in <module>
    from . import status
  File "/usr/share/hplip/base/status.py", line 32, in <module>
    import cupsext

If I try to add it by cups interf=
ace or system-config-printer utility the system does not find any Hp printe=
r.
