Thanks for this.

However, kexec-tools is not a forked package and Devuan uses Debian's packages
directly without recompilation. Please report this issue directly yo Debian's
BTS so it can be addressed.

You may get a more fruitful response there if you are able to provide a patch
for the initscript.
